LUNOVU - Integrated Laser Solutions

LUNOVU designs and builds complex laser systems, providing integrated solutions for customers in R&D and industry, in applications such as additive manufacturing, laser cladding or micro processing. Our unique products are based on high performance hardware, proprietary control software and application specific process know-how.

LUNOVU laser systems are based on a modular concept. The product portfolio covers 2 to 5 axes cartesian setups in various sizes. Additionally, systems based on articulated robots are available. By merging all critical system components, such as mechanics, electronics, controls, automation and process,  a truly integrated system is created which offers significant added value to our customers.

LUNOVU laser machines use latest technology. Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) systems for laser cladding, (also referred to as DED - Direct Energy Deposition or DMD - Direct Metal Deposition) for example, are equipped with a unique sensor technology that scans and digitizes parts surfaces, and automatically calculates and executes welding paths.

Recently, the EHLA process (extreme high speed laser cladding) which was developed by Fraunhofer ILT gained a lot of interest due to its capability to coat parts with unsurpassed velocity and efficiency.

From November 19 to 22, 2019, the FORMNEXT will take place in Frankfurt, Germany. Recognized as one of the most relevant trade fairs in the field of additive manufacturing, it is a perfect opportunity for LUNOVU to present its latest Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) highlights. The focus is on application examples, such as LMD coated extrusion screws, additively manufactured complex 3D structures, or conventional/additive hybrid parts. You will find LUNOVU in hall 11.0, booth F51F.

LUNOVU successfully completes EU project COMMUNION

August 5, 2019

On July 8th in Barcelona the final workshop of the COMMUNION project was held. The target of the project which was funded through the EU HORIZON 2020 programme was the development of novel methods for the manufacturing of metal reinforced CFRT materials. LUNOVU exhibits at Rapid.Tech

June 7, 2019

From June 25 to June 27, 2019, in Erfurt/Germany the Rapid.Tech 2019 will take place - one of the most important trade fairs in the field of Additive Manufacturing. LUNOVU will present its latest developments at the joint BMWi booth (BMWI 02). The focus will be on laser metal deposition (LMD), including highlights such as the manufacturing of 3D geometries on existing 3D parts.

LUNOVU nominated as a candidate for the AC2 Innovation Award of the Aachen Region 2019

PULSE: An EU research project on highest power, ultra short pulse laser systems

February 4, 2019

LUNOVU participates in the joint research project PULSE which is funded by the EU within the Horizon 2020 framework. The project focuses on the development of ultra short pulse lasers with up to 2.5 kW power, and on the related technology for materials processing with such lasers. Together with ten more partners, LUNOVU will develop the system technology for 3D processing until end of 2022.

LUNOVU LMD system successfully put into operation at Brandenburg University of Technology

January 7, 2019

At the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU) in Cottbus, Germany, a Laser Metal Deposition (LMD) system has been successfully put into operation. The machine system was manufactured by the technology company LUNOVU GmbH based in Herzogenrath, Germany. The LMD system was purchased by the chair for mechanical design and manufacturing, headed by Prof. Markus Bambach, to meet multiple requirements ranging from materials development to the production of light weight materials.

For the third time, from January 29 to 31, 2019, the International Symposium on Additive Manufacturing will be held in Dresden, Germany. In this event, high level talks and presentations from industry and R&D will be given. LUNOVU will participate in the industrial exibition, presenting latest developments in the field of Laser Metal Deposition
